In the heart deep within a mystical forest lived little Maya. She was known for her kind heart and her talent with playing the drum. It wasn't just any drum though, it was a magical one! Whenever Maya played, bright lights danced around her and the animals of the forest would come together. Her music brought joy to each and every creature and filled the air with happy melodies.

On November Tuesday, six-year-old Ruby Bridges became an inspiration. She was the only Black girl to go to the school, that was at New Orleans, Louisiana.
Ruby's first day at school was extremely tough. There were many angry people whom shouted screamed about her. The crowd even tried to block Ruby from going into the school.
However, Ruby remained. She walked confidently into her school with a brave heart. Ruby's story shows us of perseverance have.
Ruby was protected by U.S. Marshals every day at school.
